DJ K-Rec aka Kent Stephany

BIOGRAPHY

DJ K-Rec aka Kent Stephany is a hiphop artist and producer based in Vancouver, Canada. Prior to working independently, K-Rec had a record deal with Nettwerk Music Group where he worked with Canadian bands Delerium and Front Line Assembly while producing his solo album Disque Jockey.

K-Rec was nominated for two MuchMusic video awards in 2001 and had the privilege of performing on MuchMusic and Citytv’s Electric Circus. K-Rec did production and engineering for Delerium’s Juno-nominated album “Chimera”, and remixed “It’s Tricky” by Run-Dmc which became the title soundtrack for Electronic Arts video game “SSX Tricky”.

In 2008, K-Rec was personally selected by DJ Shadow as the winner of the Nokia Trends Lab Experiment “What does your city sound like?”. This year alone, DJ K-Rec has opened for Juicy J, Waka Flocka Flame, k-os, Classified, Machine Gun Kelly, Method Man, De La Soul, Bonobo, DJ Numark, Tech9, Pete Rock and CL Smooth and all four Dave Chapelle shows. In previous years, he has opened for DJ Krush, Young Jeezy, and Camp-lo just to name a few.
