Welcome to Battle of the Brush, where creativity meets competition! Here’s a breakdown of how our live painting competition unfolds:
1. Team Formation:
Each competition features four to five teams, with two artists per team.
You can choose your teammate or let us pair you up with another talented artist.
2. Competition Format:
The competition lasts for 80 minutes, split into two 40-minute halves with a 20-minute halftime break.
Artists create their masterpieces in real-time, bringing the theme to life on canvas
3. Supplies Provided:
We supply primed canvases (30×40 inches), acrylic paint, and water buckets.
Artists are required to bring their own brushes, palettes, and palette knives.
4. Theme and Preparation:
A theme is announced well in advance of each show, allowing artists to prepare and brainstorm ideas for their paintings.
5. Silent Auction:
Paintings created at the show are available for silent auction starting at $350 each.
We discuss starting bids with the artist teams.
When a painting is sold, we split the proceeds 50/50 with the artists.
Unsold paintings are kept for a few months to try and sell them. If they don’t sell, artists can pick them up from our gallery.
6. Event Experience:
Enjoy a lively atmosphere with a DJ spinning tunes and an MC keeping the energy high throughout the night.
Half-time features a music performance from a local artist or singer.
A cash bar is available for the audience to purchase drinks.
Audience members vote for their favorite team using voting cards.
Prizes from our sponsors are given away to audience members who answer questions correctly.
Each artist receives 2 free tickets for friends and family, as well as two free drink tickets.
7. Prize Money and Trophies:
Winning teams at regular shows receive a $500 cash prize and the Golden Brush.
Grand Finale winners receive a $1000 cash prize and the Golden Brush Cup, to hold onto until the next grand finale. Their names will be engraved onto a plaque on the cup.
8. Season Finale:
Winning teams from regular shows compete in the Grand Finale against other winning teams from the season.
