Battle of the Brush 45 is Vancouver’s most electric live art night — and it’s back.
16 artists (8 teams) battle live on stage in an 80-minute timed painting competition (two intense 40-minute halves) with DJ, MC, drinks, a loud crowd — and a winner crowned live.

This is not a quiet gallery night.
It’s built for friends, date night, and anyone who wants a Vancouver night out that actually feels different.

Teams start with a blank canvas and bring it to life in real time under pressure, music, and a live audience.

the last-minute pushes
and the final reveal when the artwork is complete

Barbara Beam is a broadcast personality, voice-over artist, and live event host with over 20 years of experience in radio and media across Western Canada. She has held prominent on-air roles at major stations including 94.5 FM, Z95.3, 93.7 JR Country (Vancouver), and Wild 95.3 FM (Calgary) — earning a reputation for her engaging presence, sharp timing, and natural command of the mic.

Beyond radio, Barbara is also a sought-after voice-over talent represented by MVM Agency, lending her voice to commercials, promos, and branded media across Canada. Whether hosting live audiences or working behind the scenes, she brings professionalism, warmth, and confidence — making her the perfect MC to guide the energy and excitement of Battle of the Brush 45.

DJ: K-Rec

Keeping the music moving and the energy up while the artists battle live.
DJ K-Rec is a respected Vancouver-based DJ, producer, and beatmaker with deep roots in the Canadian music scene. He’s built a strong reputation blending hip-hop, electronic, soul, and beat-driven styles, both behind the decks and in the studio.

Over the years, K-Rec has released multiple collaborative projects and remixes showcasing his versatility — including work with Atlanta MC 4-IZE and guest appearances from hip-hop veterans like Percee P and Moka Only. In late 2025, he released Happiness, a new single with Sadat X, further cementing his place in the creative intersection of hip-hop and electronic music.

Whether he’s in the booth, on the turntables, or in the studio, K-Rec brings a dynamic, groove-forward vibe that elevates every crowd — the perfect soundtrack for art, culture, and community gatherings like Battle of the Brush.
